Kwik Star Express Fort Dodge, Iowa

Making their introduction to Fort Dodge, Iowa, is Kwik Star Express. La Crosse-based Kwik Trip is expanding their convenience store brand with a new express venture — called Kwik Trip Express in Wisconsin and Kwik Star Express in Iowa.

Dean Snyder Construction crews started in early October 2016 tearing down a previous Clark gas station to the studs and rebuilt the structure as Kwik Star Express. The 3,700 square-foot gas station/convenience store offers similar products to what’s found in the company’s full-size stores, only on a reduced scale.

Included in the renovation are four gas pumps, a walk-in beer cave, coolers, a bread endcap, coffee counter, and fountain soda display. The express model will also feature a walk-in humidor, or a room with constant humidity that is used to store cigars, cigarettes, and pipe tobacco.

A similar project also took place in Des Moines. DSC crews tore down an existing building and replaced it with a 3,000 square-foot Kwik Star Express. This was a new structure and has a similar layout to the Fort Dodge structure.
