DSC Helping Double Cheese Capacity for AMPI

AMPIDean Snyder Construction crews are in Sanborn, Iowa, helping to double production on an 80-year-old cheese making facility. Starting this past February, crews are building a new 14,000 square-foot precast addition to an existing Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) cheese plant. The addition includes 8 new state-of-the-art cheese vats and other processing equipment to allow the plant to be capable of producing 300,000 pounds of block cheese everyday. AMPI plans to start producing cheese in their new addition by December. The plant will be fully functional by mid-2018.

Headquartered in New Ulm, MN, AMPI is dairy-farmer owned and makes cheese, butter, and powdered dairy products from milk produced on Midwest family farms. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to food service, retail, and food ingredient customers.
